Day one we visited a local HD shop to get a little top up oil for our rental bike. In the heat they consume a little.
That took 5 minutes.
We called into a Western Wear store.
That took ages.
Back by midday we just loafed about in the Hotel doing the washing and blog etc.
At mid afternoon we felt guilty for not being more "into" Las Vegas and caught the monorail into the Strip to visit the Venetian, one of the casinos, and try to see what all the fuss is about.
Sorry but its boring. You can:
A. look at shops. B. Look at people gambling. C. Go to a bar or nightclub. D. Eat.
Its all themed up to the hilt so you get to walk around in a totally false environment. Its just a theme park dedicated to Drinking, Gambling, Prostitution and Conferences.
We did see a couple getting married in the Casino. They have a gondola running through the shops. These sorry people where being married in the Gondola by a very ernest, solemn looking priest.
"So where did you two tie the knot? "In the shopping mall/casino"

In balance to this view point, some of the group are having a ball in Las Vegas.
So we came back to our nice hotel and enjoyed the company of others in our tour group during the managers free happy "hour" that last's for two hours.
Today Gerry visited the outlets stores with a group of travelling companions while Mark teamed up with Garry and Dave and visited the Shelby Ford factory for a museum visit and tour. Brrm, brrm!
The rest of the day was spent loafing about. Tomorrow we have our last challenge.
Death Valley. The lowest road in America. It will also be our hottest day. The weather forecast is 50 degrees. Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow we are on the road again.

We are still enjoying sharing the ride. Is there room for a Shelby Cobra for me in the container of T shirts you are sending back???
ReplyDeleteTony, Im sorry but the T shirt container is full of a GT350 Mustang in white and blue. Anyway the cowboy boots are taking up far too much room. :)
