We went for a bit of a walk around the village with Ken to the site of one of the old hotels at Grand Canyon. She was a grand old lady with a large entrance sporting rustic log walls with various stuffed heads mounted on them. Moose, Elk etc.
The views of the Canyon from here where first class. The smoke had dissipated making for even better viewing.
Walking back Gerry wanted to take a different route to see the Mules that cart people down into the Canyon itself.
We saddled our iron horse and left by ourselves for a causal day with tiki tour stops planned.
The first little town to visit was Williams. One of the many cashing in on the route 66 revival. We walked around but after the majesty we had been amongst in the last 4 weeks it was like visiting Disneyland.
On the way to Flagstaff we stopped in at the Grand Canyon Harley Dealer for a t shirt.
We got talking to more people as we have all along. Lately the blog has been simply reading"we did, we saw, we got hot...." due to the fact the days have been very long and lack of energy has kept it simple. There is more to the experience though and its the people. They are great. Friendly, helpful and courteous. The bikers also have the shared common bond.
We drove around Flagstaff. Its a reasonable size. It seems very nice but we didn't want to do shops just then and other then get "stuck" talking to more friendly locals at the gas station we passed right through.
We took the 89A to Sedona. The riding until then had been rolling green land. A hint of the drama we saw in Utah was revealed and as we descended further into the Oak Creek Canyon it became more and more beautiful.

We stopped at Sedona. It is a wealthy looking area with gift shops and food places. We wandered about and talked to quite a few people. Everywhere we go they all seem to have either visited Aussie or NZ. We got this again today. Many people in Sedona knew of or had visited and one young couple on a Wide Glide had hopes of visiting NZ one day.

Today there is an eclectic mix of jewelry stores, cafes, biker bars and brothels. How odd.
Our room is lovely. Ye olde type and a good choice.
