We started in South Dakota, crossed into Nebraska, then Wyoming and finally Colorado.
The journey was mostly in wide open plains at highway speeds.
Our impressions of Nebraska: Hot. Long Trains. Corn. Sugar Beet. Ranches.Sunflowers.
We stopped at a subway for lunch and a man hearing our accents came over and had a chat. An interesting person he was originally from Montana and had some photos he took while hunting and fishing in the forests there.
He showed us the best photos of Grizzly Bears in the wild, snow, plains, mountains. It brought back great memories from a week or two ago.
We pushed on and finished up the last 100 miles in no time. Fort Collins is a largish community, About 110,000 people.
It started its life as a sheep farming province, had an army presence, then the army moved along and left its legacy with the towns name.
Today its mostly Cattle, Sugar beet and the Colorado State University that keep it humming.
It has wide streets that are a hang over from the horse and buggy days. We had a walk around the Historic Town Centre. Pleasant and very hot.
